This is an UGE module for X-Wing Alliance. It only lets you change your combat score on each mission (no bonus score yet, sorry!). Be warned, before you do anything, that I am not responsible for any damage caused by any files contained in this zip file. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you're afraid, backup your pilot (pilotname0.plt). If anything bad occurs, you can always restore it.
Now, to what matters. To use, you must own the UGE program. It can be found in several places on the Internet, including at AVault (www.avault.com). After you have the program, decompress it if needed, and run it. When you see a list with game names, press A to add a game. When it asks you the name, type anything (X-Wing Alliance, for example) and press Enter. Now comes one of the important parts: when it asks you for which module to use, DO NOT CREATE A NEW ONE (no problem to if you do, though); scroll through the list until you reach a file named "xwa.mdl" (no quotes). Press Enter. Now for the directory: scroll through the list until you find your X-Wing Alliance directory (I don't know where you put it!). Press Enter to go to files and subdirectory listing and select your pilot from the list (your pilot filename is pilotname0.plt: pilotname is the name you gave your pilot; don't forget it comes with an 0!). There! You are now set to edit your pilot file!
Now it's the easy part. Press Enter when you have XWA selected to go to the editing screen. Now you can change your combat score values. BTW, Prol. means Prologue, Bat. means Battle, JtR means Joining the Rebellion, and Mis. means Mission. Just so you'll know...
Remember, to see your updates on XWA, you must quit the game and restart it (if you were running it, that is; if you weren't, just start the game). OK, now, I think everything's explained. Oh, and by the way, this editing tool IS considered CHEATING. It won't mark your pilot, but will you have a clear conscience? :) Oh, and, although you CAN put score as 999999999, it is not advisable, not so much for veracity of your pilot, but because the numbers "overwrite" (go over, in this case) your bonus score. You can try to see it for yourself, the values ARE reversible (just be sure to memorize them :) ). Oh, and, if you don't like the module, please, GIVE ME A BREAK. This is my first attempt at actually editing a file and distributing the way! I'lll try to do better next time.
